I kinda love my silly carrot peeler.
Utensils with eyes just make my day.
Hightlighter. Of course. Who can live without highlighters?
And Sharpies. These are my favorites. I should name them.
That's all for now, folks.
Anyone else spend their time painting inanimate objects?
Hey Wendy~
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to stop by and tell you how much I enjoy reading your blog. I have admired you and your artistic courage for some time now...and I am taking tentative steps to add more creativity to my life, too. I'm at that beginning place where I know I have stuff inside me that wants to be expressed, but I'm afraid to start because I'm not 'an artist.'
I'm setting up my art space right now, and I was wondering if you could post a picture of your own little 'studio' space.
I'm excited (and a little freaked out) by my decision to begin...but I know I have to start. :)
Thanks for continuing to inspire me, Wendy.
Shelley
SO COOL. I love the idea of painting Sharpies - they are my favorite go-to marker!!! I've never thought of painting inadimate objects, so thank you for planting that seed!! Cheers! :-)
ReplyDeleteShelley-- I'm going to post about it. Soon. I hope. But the bottom line is that I don't have a space. I used to. But now I lay on the floor with sharpies and watercolors, and go at it while I watch movies with Fred. I bring my sketchbook in the car, on trips, to the creek. When the kids are occupied, I draw. :)
ReplyDeleteJust begin. There's nothing like the present. And no art is a mistake. It doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful. It doesn't even need to be what you intended. And, by gosh, you're making it for YOU, so who gives a flip what anyone else thinks. Or so I tell myself. :) Spirit of Everest. You can do it.
