Drawing a hot air balloon

Start with simple watercolor shapes:

 When dry, add ink.
Crisscross lines over the top half of the circle, to form the net on the balloon.

When you add just a line at a time, it becomes simple...
just shapes....just lines... just art...

  1. I love posts like this that are easy to follow (for me to help my artist son) and that you explain the technique. So many times people post something and say "this is what I did" and I can't figure out how it was done. Thanks for the post!
