I met the Duggars

We happened to be testing at the same site as the Duggars on Wednesday. Unless you live in a cave, I'm sure you know who the Duggars are. They are only the world's largest family. The Duggars have their own TV show, and just released a book, The Duggars: 20 and Counting!
I admire and respect this family deeply. They take this verse seriously: “Lo children are a heritage of the Lord, the fruit of the womb is His reward.”

And yet they come up against tremendous opposition. Why? There are people out there with two children, who are doing a lousy job. Some people just shouldn't have children. And then there are people, like the Duggars, that absolutely put family first. They love and cherish each child, they are successful and happy, and they are not a "burden on society." These are the people that need our prayers and support.

See those white vans? Those are Duggar-vans. And here's Jim Bob himself, with one of his crew, and my Artist and Little Lad. Yes, I risked humiliating myself in public to take a picture of this man and his son. It was worth it.

(I worked myself into the picture...see me??)
A friend joked that Jim Bob is putting his blessing on my Little Lad. Now my baby is destined for greatness...and a large brood!
Have you ever met anyone famous?

I love the Duggars show. I agree with you on how wonderful they raise their kids and how they truly love each child. That is AWESOME that you got to mee them. I used to live in NWA and I always hoped to one day get to see them out in public. That never happened though and now we have moved to TN. That is awesome that you got a picture--I would have done the same! :)

That's neat! I grew up in Siloam Springs so my dad has met them before when he was selling a tractor at the Rodeo. He said they were all very well behaved. My sister can't stand them but she's also not married and has no children. I think if that's what they want and they aren't on welfare, so be it. :)

How great! You are brave. I'd never walk up. I'd just be the obnoxious gawker across the parking lot. I did see Julia Roberts one time when I lived in Chicago, but it was from across the street. = )

Last year we had Michelle speak at our NWA Mom's of Multiples club, since she has two sets of twins. Honestly, I was not sure what to expect. She was super nice and really soft spoken just like on the show. She gave out a bunch of parenting tips, handouts, and answered a slew of questions. She had 4 of her girls with her, and the baby (at the time) that was nursing. I even got to hold the baby! They we all super nice and willing to answer questions.

How cool is that! I met them last year. They came to speak at convo at Liberty University where my daughter is attending. She called me the night before all excited telling me we just HAD to come the next day to hear them. So, I got on the phone....at 10pm...& rounded up our little homeschool group so we could go hear them speak. We even stood in line for 2 hours to meet them & get pictures. They are my heroes!!
